Dr. Richard Ludwig, Ed.D - Organic Gardening Expert Dr, Ludwig is a 30-year career educator and currently retired Director of the Horticulture Program at Gwinnett Technical College, one of the larger programs in the Southeast known for their landscape design curriculum. Dr. Ludwig has held the title of Georgia Educator of the Year by the Georgia Green Industry, the states umbrella association representing landscape, retail, wholesale, flower growers, irrigation, and allied associations throughout the state of Georgia. He achieved this title again through the Georgia Commercial Flower Growers in 2004. Dr. Ludwig was named the national spokesman for Miracle Grow in 2001. He received his doctorate from the University of Georgia and is the former host of the PBS TV show, Garden Smart, writer / host of the PBS TV show The Southern Gardener, and consultant and contributor to Southern Living magazine.

GardenSMART is a unique, exciting, informative television gardening program broadcast on local Public Broadcasting stations (PBS) throughout the United States. It is a "hands in the dirt" experience. Never just behind a potting bench or in a studio, GardenSMART covers the country visiting beautiful public and private gardens and resorts.

Here at Wilson Bros Online, Dr. Rick provides us with his vast knowledge of "sustainable gardening" among other topics. Dr. Rick is always looking for new gardening ideas, plants, trends and designs; not the latest fad but common-sense, practical gardening ideas. And he has an uncanny knack for explaining complex issues in every-gardener terms. These skills were first demonstrated to the GardenSMART audience in 2000 as one of its first hosts. PBS recently said: "We are extremely proud to have Dr. Richard Ludwig back to GardenSMART." And we are equally as proud and honored to have him here.
