Tropical Plants
Though most tropical plants are not winter hardy above mid to north Florida (a few are), they can still be useful to bring tropical appeal during the warm season in landscapes further north. Many plants from the tropics hold up very well in any climates where summers are hot.
Tropical plants can be combined with other traditional annual plants in flower beds and containers to be placed around decks, pools or other outdoor living or recreation areas. Just remember, most tropical plants are not winter-hardy above Zone 10. To carry them over to the next season they would have to be planted in a container and overwintered indoors.
Of the various types of tropical plants, Bougainvillea may be the most popular. If you are interested in learning more about Bougainvillea visit Bougainvillea Grower International - The world's largest wholesale Bougainvillea grower.
